Frosted Cinnamon Buns
Preheat the Oven to 425 Degrees Fahrenheit
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/3 Cup and 1 tbsp shortening
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. With a pastry cutter, finely cut in the shortening until crumbly. Stir in milk and knead dough lightly, approximately 30 times. Roll out dough into 1/4 inch thick rectangle and spread a layer of butter over top. Next mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over the dough. Begin to roll at the wide side of the rectangle, pinching the sides together as you go. Seal it well at the end by pinching together the edges of the dough. Cut into 1 inch slices and place then cut side down on a greased or lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes (12 was fine for me). Ice them while they’re still warm!

- 1 tsp vanilla
